Before talking about the photos, I would like to give you all a brief background on the artist, himself. Weerapong Chaipuck is a Thailand-based photographer who did not start out as an artist at all. In fact, he was in the medical profession until his early retirement. Then, he decided to begin traveling and taking some incredible photos, using a variety of special effects and digital enhancement, to make them look out of this world.

Chaipuck works with landscapes and people, finding only the best subjects to take photos of. After he has captured the photos, he does such things as alter the lighting, change the colors (ex. making some parts of the photo black and white while other parts remain colored), and more. These effects allow for completely surreal images to come about.

But enough talking about these photos. Check some of them out below.

This poor guy is not having a very good day.

This next photo shows what I was talking about with altered colors. While the mountains do keep their brown tint, they mainly look grey. Meanwhile, the fabric on the railing is a brilliant red. The altered colors in some of the other photos also allow the image to “pop”; the colors become very bright and fun to look at.

Is it just me, or do some of these photos look like something straight out of a science fiction or fantasy movie? Or perhaps they even look like video game imagery. Either way, these definitely do not look like normal photographs. It is hard for me to believe that some of these are real images of people and places, but I can assure you that they are. Weerapong Chaipuck, not to doubt his credentials as a medical professional, definitely ended up in the right career path. He does not seem to be stopping anytime soon and is sure to create some more amazing work in the future.
